About the Program

Workforce & Housing for Detroit Youth

Detroit YouthBuild reconnects young people with education and career opportunities. Participants earn their high school diploma or GED, receive paid hands-on construction training, gain industry-recognized certifications, and develop leadership skills. Together, we build affordable housing and transform Detroit neighborhoods.

Our Mission

Empowering Detroit’s Next Generation

We believe every young person deserves a pathway to success. Our program combines education, skills training, and community service to help Detroit youth overcome barriers and launch meaningful careers in construction and beyond.

How It Works

Learn

Participants complete GED prep, digital literacy, and career readiness training to build a strong educational foundation.

Build

Youth gain real-world construction experience, rehabilitating homes and earning certifications like OSHA-10 and NCCER.

Launch

Graduates transition into apprenticeships, employment, or college with ongoing career support and mentorship.
